Matanga Hill – Hampi Matanga Hill is the highest point in Hampi and offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the entire region. According to ancient legends, the hill is associated with Saint Matanga, who is believed to have meditated here.
Visitors often climb Matanga Hill to witness spectacular sunrise and sunset views over the rocky landscape, temples, and ruins of Hampi. The short hike to the top is rewarding and provides stunning views of Virupaksha Temple, Hampi Bazaar, and the Tungabhadra River.

The best time to climb Matanga Hill is early morning for sunrise or evening for sunset. Carry water and wear comfortable shoes as the path involves climbing over stone steps and rocks.
