Hampi Bazaar – Hampi is one of the most famous historic streets in Hampi and is located directly in front of the Virupaksha Temple. During the time of the Vijayanagara Empire, this long marketplace was a bustling commercial center where traders sold precious stones, spices, silk, horses, and other valuable goods.

The bazaar stretches for nearly one kilometer and is lined with ancient stone pavilions that once served as shops and market stalls. These structures reflect the prosperity and vibrant trade that existed in Hampi during the height of the Vijayanagara Empire.

Hampi Bazaar is best explored early in the morning or during sunset when the surroundings are peaceful and the view of the Virupaksha Temple gopuram and Hemakuta Hill looks especially beautiful.
