Elephant Stables – Hampi
The Elephant Stables – Hampi is one of the best-preserved monuments in Hampi and was used to house the royal elephants of the Vijayanagara Empire. This impressive structure consists of eleven large chambers, each designed to accommodate one elephant.
The architecture of the Elephant Stables is unique because it shows a blend of Hindu and Islamic architectural styles, which was common during the Vijayanagara period. Each chamber features large arched entrances and beautifully designed domes.
